Hi I’m Suzy.
Get to know me
Hello! I’m a licensed full time Realtor since 2013 and I know the area inside and out. Born and raised here (Aquinas High School), my husband John and I have raised our two children here and have called Downriver our home since day one. I have over 25 years in the advertising, marketing and graphic design fields before becoming a realtor, and I have extensive knowledge of the region. Beyond my love of family and real estate, my other passions are cooking and trying out new restaurants, and new areas of interest locally.
There is a commonality in selling AND buying in the form of making both your home, and your offer on a home - attractive. Think about it - your home needs to be attractive to potential buyers, and shine in it’s best light. It needs to appeal to widest range of qualified buyers. Things like neutral paint colors, and upgraded flooring (both carpet and hard flooring) can help your asking price tremendously. Because I work with buyers and sellers alike, I know what appeals to buyers. As your listing agent, I can help you with tips to get the best “bang for your buck” before putting your house on the market.
When I’m acting as a buyer’s agent, and I’m making an offer on behalf of my buyers, the key is to make the offer “most attractive” to the seller. Besides price of course, can my buyers offer an appraisal guarantee? Can we offer the seller free occupancy after closing? Can we offer to accept some of the furniture that may be left in the home that the seller doesn’t want anymore? The goal is to make the offer as clean and attractive as possible to the seller, so that our offer stands out.
In my experience, I have a good, working relationship with many agents locally, and I have a good track record of getting my offers accepted! I’m always striving to be the best realtor Downriver.

A modern approach to traditional values
Communication is everything and it’s something I take seriously. And if you call…I’ll answer my phone!
I’m mindful about the form of communication that works best for you. Some clients only prefer texts during the workday. But whatever form of communication you prefer is what you’ll get it from me. Good or bad, I’ll give it to you straight.
For my buyers, I like to go through the whole process with you in my office, and give “case studies” of how some buying strategies have paid off for my clients. It will take us about 30-45 min to go over everything. From there, we can start looking at homes!
For sellers, meeting with you in your home is best, that way I can see the house, and armed with comparative sales, can give you an accurate evaluation of what your house can sell for in today’s market.
It’s more than a transaction
Buying and selling a home is A BIG DEAL. And it’s an emotionally charged period in your life - I get it. You need someone in your corner who knows every aspect of the purchase agreement whether you be on the buyer or seller side. You need to know what is happening every day and what is to come in the sale or purchase of your home. I’ll handle it all from start to finish. I don’t have a staff - that means that I don’t have to hand parts of the transaction off to other people, and I like it that way! I want you to know that I’m there for you - throughout it all.
Different cities and counties offer different circumstances surrounding the sale or purchase of a home. Do you need to order a city inspection in Southgate? What about Trenton? Does the buyer reimburse you for property taxes you’ve already paid in Wayne County? Does the warranty on your basement waterproofing or solar panels transfer to another buyer? Can I occupy a home if I’ve assumed the city inspection violations and I’m working to correct them in Woodhaven? (the answer is no.)
These are just a few of the questions you need to ask before you enter into a binding contract. I can help you navigate the many facets of buying and selling, with patience and understanding.
I’m excited to work with you!
